Ran

Eskaders fire-tube boilers (Mini-Gnom, Mini-Neptun, Neptun, Mini-Ran, Ran) is designed to suit model steam boats in wich the center of gravity is wanted as low as possible. The boilers has a fire tube in the length direction which is crossed by several tubes. This construction gives a very rapid vaporization. To isolate the boiler a layer of Rock-wool is recommended along with a layer of soft aluminium plate or wood strips and some brass tape to keep the isolation in place. Because the flame is completely surrounded by the boiler, only a thin layer of isolation is required for the hull around the boiler. The Mini-Ran is suitable for steam engines like the D-10, Score, Compound E-11, Twin, Triple expansion engine and can be used in smaller steam boats up to the length of 78 3/4" (200 cm). It has 4 connections, threaded 1/4"x32 on the end of the boiler for level gauge, manometer, check valve with connection for tap tapered union.
